This Privacy Policy explains how Wyke (“Wyke,” “we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you visit getwyke.com (the “Site”) and join our pre-launch waitlist.
Wyke is building a social community app for people who love to cruise. This Site is our pre-launch home: its main purpose is to tell you about Wyke and let you sign up to be notified when the app launches. A separate, fuller privacy policy will apply to the Wyke app when it becomes available.
By using the Site, you agree to this Policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Site.
1. Information we collect
- Information you give us. When you join the waitlist, we collect the email address you submit (and any other details you choose to send us, for example if you email us directly).
- Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we may collect basic technical information such as your approximate location (from your IP address), browser and device type, and how you interact with the Site. This helps us keep the Site working and understand interest in Wyke.
- Cookies and similar technologies. We may use a small number of cookies or similar tools for essential functionality and basic, privacy-respecting analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to: notify you when Wyke launches and send occasional updates about our progress (you can unsubscribe at any time); operate, secure, and improve the Site; respond to messages you send us; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.
3. Legal bases (for EEA/UK visitors)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on your consent (for waitlist and update emails) and our legitimate interests (in operating and securing the Site and measuring interest in Wyke). You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. How we share information
We share information only with trusted service providers who help us run the Site and waitlist — for example our website host, our form/email-delivery provider, and analytics tools — and only as needed. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of others. We don’t sell or rent your information for third-party marketing.
5. Data retention
We keep your waitlist email until Wyke launches and you’ve had the chance to create an account, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first. You can request deletion at any time (see Section 7).
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. EEA/UK residents have rights under the GDPR/UK GDPR; California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know, delete, and opt out of “sale”/“sharing” (we don’t sell or share your data in that sense). 7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
8. Children
The Site and Wyke are intended for people aged 17 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 17. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact privacy@getwyke.com and we’ll delete it.
9. International transfers
We may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for international transfers.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. If changes are material, we’ll update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Continuing to use the Site after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
